Mary's doing the Lewa Marathon

One of the Rhino Rouge team, Mary Njonjo and her friend Alison have decided to run the Lewa Marathon this year, scheduled to take place on June 26th 2010 at Lewa Downs. Lewa Downs is a conservation area in northern Kenya and several ecotourism projects etc make this an exciting area for tourists to visit.
Since its inception in 2000, the Lewa "Safaricom Marathon" has raised over KSH 70,000,000 (US$1,000,000) for a range of projects in northern Kenya. Last year's event raised KSH 30,000,000. Every team is asked to raise a minimum of KSH 100,000 in sponsorship, which is then distributed to conservation, education, healthcare and community development projects in Northern Kenya.
