Takeaway notes from the drivers briefing

On Saturday Mary and I went to the drivers briefing for this years rhino charge held at Braeburn school. Here we had to collect the Red Bag (which contains the GPS and cables) and the Blue bag (with sponsor stickers, competitor plaques and notes) and officially register for this years event. We are required to show that we have collected a minimum level of sponsorship at this point too. This year thanks to all of our generous supporters who have contributed to RhinoArk through Car 17 we were able to show that we have raised over a million shillings in support. We have been awarded a Millionaires Prize which is a bronze picture frame in recognition of this.

Here is a picture of myself and Otto holding the picture frame (in its box!)

They put up a map which points to the meeting point only and includes on it the venue but its such a small scale that its incredibly deceptive. The Kapenguria below was on display with Corner Baridi marked with a blue pin.

We have the following take away notes to share;

The meeting place on the morning of the 29th May is at Corner Baridi, on the magadi road at the southern end of the Ngong Hills.

The venue is about two hours driving from here. There were no roads at the site.

The area is apparently wet right now- VERY WET

And ...it will be TOUGH.
